Keeping Theme Park's grid structure (though isometrically projected unlike Theme Park), players have the option to build flat rides, a wide variety of different roller coasters, tracked rides, paths, scenery, and modify the landscape of your park. Rollercoaster Tycoon- By far the most famous coaster game, Chris Sawyer's iconic Rollercoaster Tycoon has kickstarted god knows how many aspiring roller coaster engineering dreams. You get a grid and you get to build flat rides and pretty simple roller coasters on it while managing the park financially. I've played a version adapted to Nintendo DS and it feels like a watered down version of the super familiar Rollercoaster Tycoon. Theme Park- This is the original roller coaster game, it's so dated that when it first came out it was packaged with an external CD drive. I know very few enthusiasts who have never played a coaster game, but which one is your favorite? Here's a rundown of all the major ones, in case you've not played all of them. This seems altogether much more confusing and less supported in an official capacity. To some degree, I've always loved roller coasters since my mother got me a copy of old school Rollercoaster Tycoon from the library and ended up buying it for me because I loved it so much, and I still have the disk from over fifteen years ago. I've done scripting before, but on a different 'game' that was much more explicit in what commands/functions existed. How can I get started to actually script this? Any help would be appreciated. I basically want to model it off of actual coasters in real life. I also want to script it so that at a certain point in the station when the last car in the train passes it, the next train to enter the station can begin to do so. I also want the brake runs to not simply function as on/off but rather give a realistic braking effect to slow down the trains till it is necessary to stop them. I want to automatically turn off the trim brakes (midway through) in there is high wind in the simulation. I want to alter the speed of the lift hill so it is slower while there is a track on the run and then it speeds up when the coaster is free. I want to be able to make everthing work automatically and in manual/full manual mode. Is there a 'basic' block script I could use as a template and then use it for my coaster?īasically I have a station, lift hill, trim brakes, block brakes, block brakes on a transfer track, and then back to the station. The help files within nolimits2 were simply confusing and I'm seeing parts of scripts on this site that use things I never saw in the help files. I am trying to see the basics of what I need and how to proceed. I am trying to make a custom block script for a coaster.
